THE MISSING NARRATIVE OF NEPTUNE

Hi friends - apologies for the long delay. I've been over at Xanga.com having fun there with a blog for students and friends.

News...

My new book THE MISSING NARRATIVE OF NEPTUNE has been published and will be out this week from Scrybe Press. You can Google them to find out how to order or contact me here or at the Xanga site - www.xanga.com/gwarlockvance.

Also - I will be signing copies of this book and others at ZOMBIE CON 2 this coming weekend - 25 October 2008 - Chapel Hill, NC. The convention runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will be at the Sheraton Hotel just off the 15-501 - One Europa Drive. Come say hello and pick up a copy of the new book. I'll also be selling a ton of cool toys from my private collection! Neat-o vintage stuff - perfect for monster and Halloween collectors.

That's it for now. I'll try to upload and image of the book and feature more pertinent info soon.

Love to all!

NEW DIRECTIONS

Okay students and other onlookers - a new semester began this week so time to update! Please be patient as I change some of the links, add new ones, archive the old crap and get some other cool things up for your amusement.

For my students - traditionally I've had readings listed in the blog notes and instructions on how to retrieve them. I usually ask that you read the stories then comment in the blog - you'll need to sign up with Blogger to do this.

More soon - keep looking in!

SHERLOCK HOLMES stories

Okay class - here's another reading assignment for you. Please visit this site http://www.citsoft.com/holmes3.html and then scroll down until you find the link for "The Adventure of the Six Napoleons." I want you to read that story so we can discuss it in class.

I would also like for you all to figure out how to use this blog. There's a COMMENT marker at the bottom of this entry and all you need to do is click on that and the Blogger site will help you to register and then you can leave your comments. I want each of you to leave at least one comment about the reading.

Have fun reading the tale and feel free to read others if you choose!

Linking to Lovecraft and other horrors

CTHULHU FHTAGN!

Okay gang - sorry for the long delay - too busy for words (literally).

A few of you let me know that the H. P. Lovecraft link is dead for some reason so I'm setting up another in its place that has similar fare. You'll see it in place of the other in the links section.

This entry will be brief, but I welcome anyone interested in HPL, UFOs, or any other weird and wacky thing you might be interested in to drop a note or comment here.

See you next time with a cool list of books, stamps and other neat items I'm selling!

Difficulty printing from Adobe documents

Hey y'all... Nathan pointed out the difficulty of trying to print out the Adobe documents from the Horror Masters site. I apologize for all the difficulty. Why this site won't allow the stories to be printed is rather silly because every one of these tales is in the public domain - no one owns the copyright!

Here's another site where you can find the story "The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar" by Edgar Allan Poe. http://www.sff.net/people/DoyleMacdonald/l_valdem.htm

This one works - I've tried it! Good luck. Please let me know your concerns or your thoughts by leaving comments here or via email at the regular address.

Good luck. I hope you all get chills and thrills from reading these tales!

Looks like you made it!

Okay - if you're reading this then it looks like you found your way. So far, so good. What you should do now is to click on the "comments" located directly below this entry and leave a note to say "Hey" or whatever you wish to communicate.

Next up - click on the Horror Masters link as well as The Worlds of H. P. Lovecraft to find the stories you need to read for the following week. You should read "The Case of M. Valdemar" by E. A. Poe from the first site and then read Lovecraft's "Cool Air." We will discuss these the following week so don't delay. Please print out copies to bring in to class so we can refer to them. If you have questions about using this site or about the stories themselves you may feel free to write to me at the usual email address or leave your concerns as comments on the blog.

Please realize before leaving messages on here that virtually ANYONE will have the ability to read your comments as well as myself.

Thanks for playing along - I hope you enjoy using this blog and I encourage each of you to utilize this service to create your own! It's simple and fun to use - give it a go!

See you next week for an interesting session of comparison and contrast. We'll also discuss the MLA guidelines too. More at that time!
